Good to be Alive

Posted on 03/4/16

I got hooked on this song leading up to the Oscars. It played with every commercial and damn the thing, it’s so catchy that when I heard the whole song (somewhere?!), I grabbed the title and downloaded it. Now I can’t get it out of my head, but then again, it’s Friday so yeah, it feels good to be alive right about now. Ask me on Monday and you’ll get a different answer, I assure you. At least this weekend I’m busy but it’s a good busy. Mythbusters finale on Saturday (sniff!), and Downton Abbey finale on Sunday (sob!). Lucky for me I just got hooked on Dollhouse. Thank you, Joss Whedon, for making me not want to get off the elliptical. No other human has that power, and I’m only on the first episode.

What makes you feel good to be alive? It doesn’t have to be Friday. Maybe you like Mondays. (You’re sick. JK…mostly.) Ice cream. Cat videos. Teddy bears. Hot men. That last one works for me, so if you have one to share, please do. I need the inspiration. :)

Fridays make me happy, too. And I’m totally going to look up Dollhouse! I love Joss Whedon and I’m down for anything that will keep me distracted enough to stay on the treadmill. It’s the only way I get any exercise done at all. I have to either be coerced, or tricked into it. :)

    • The only down side was that I had it playing on my phone with my headphones on. More than once I laughed out loud or gaped, and no one around me had the slightest clue why. But oh well; maybe one of these days a hottie will stop over and ask me what has my interest. (It could happen!)

I miss you, Tara!! We had such a great time in NY! :D

This is a fun song! :-)

    Happy weekend to you!!!

    • Thanks, Susan! You too! I absolutely cannot get the song out of my head this morning. Maybe it’s just because it’s Friday, and I’m counting down the hours ’til the VFRW meeting! :D

  3. Gotta tell you, I absolutely can’t STAND that song but I know what you mean. Ear worms can be torture, right? :) Lots of things make me happy–good books, funny conversations with my sons, tennis, red velvet cake,a nice walk on a sunny day, good health, etc.

    Great post!

    • I hear you. My son hates it too. H says it was overplayed. At least now I know how to get him out of bed on the weekend. (The boy would sleep ’til 3 if I let him.) Either this, or Let It Go, which also drives him up a tree.

I’m with you on the sunny day walks, too. We had snow this morning but next week we have a few days expected to be 60 and 70-ish. Can’t wait to get in a couple of miles over lunch break!
